North Coast Mud Trail 2020

Ever wanted to take a sneak peek inside the home studios the North Coast’s thriving pottery community?

This August, the Northern Rivers Mud Trail promises to do just that.

Returning for their 8th edition, Mud Trail provides the public with a unique opportunity to take part in a series of workshops and demonstrations, as they meet and mingle with local potters and, of course, purchase handcrafted works by local artists.

While the majority of Mud Trail is free to attend there are some ticketed events that are worth looking into, especially if you’re hoping to get your hands dirty with some pottery making of your own.

Rainforest Ceramics, in Possum Creek, will be hosting a Clay Animal Making Sessions, and Tali Cohen-Flantz from Keramika in Mullumbimby will walk you through the fundamentals of clay building using techniques like coiling and slab rolling.

If you’re hoping to view the magic of ceramics while keeping your duds clean, check out the full line-up for the various demonstrations being held across the weekend.

We all know that art consumption is thirsty work, so be sure to stop by Cape Byron Distillery for a tasting paddle of Brookie’s Gin and cocktail on our balcony overlooking the subtropical backyard rainforest.

Weekend Special
Get your pottery fix with a side of gin! On the 15th & 16th of August, we’ll be slinging a series of hot cocktails in take-home ceramic cups!
